Summer

in the Villgraten Valley and the Lienz Dolomites

In the Villgratental Valley, also as in Winkeltal or Arntal as well as the numerous peaks in the nearby and surrounding areas, there are no limits to your adventures an foot or by bike.

Hiking & Walking

Let yourself transported to the summer mountain world of the Villgraten Valley.

Discover wonderful hiking routes to the “Three Peaks”, climb the Großglockner or the Großvenediger and reach the most distinctive mountain peaks of the Villgraten Valley. Cross-border hikes, such as from Villgraten Valley to the South Tyrolean Gsiesertal can also be part of your personal itinerary.

For more leisurely days, stroll along the riverside path by the Villgrater Bach or explore Villgrater history during a cultural tour at the Wurzerhof or on a village walk focused on local craftsmanship.

We are happy to personally recommend hiking tours to you.

Inspiration: Almost every day, guided hiking tours and adventure rounds with local mountain guides are offered.

Bike Tours

Cycling enthusiasts can look forward to challenging bike tours as well as beautifully developed bike paths (Drau bike path & Puster Valley bike path). The 25 km “Bergradeltour Villgraten” is a prime example of blending “summit conquering” with “nature enjoyment”. For those who arrive in the Villgraten Valley without their own bike, high-quality e-mountain bikes (hard-tail, including liability insurance, helmet and theft protection) can be rented from the e-MTB rental shop in the heart of Innervillgraten during the summer months.

Inspiration: Every Wednesday you can explore our charming Villgraten Valley on a guided bike tour.

Kids

East Tyrol is a paradise for children. Your adventure will take you through the “Wichtelpark” (Elf Park) in Sillian or the “Wildpark” (Wildlife Park) in Thal-Assling. You can experience the world from a different perspective among the treetops. The high rope courses in Sillian and Lienz on the Moosalm are also worth a visit. Don't miss a ride on the “Osttirodler”, one of the longest alpine coasters in the Alps.

Hidden Gems

At the almost enchanted site of the natural monument Sinkersee, you will discover traditional wooden fences and a variety of habitats for plants and animals.

All your senses will be engaged at the “Vitalpinum” with its medicinal herb field and the distillery demonstration.

In the Galitzenklamm adventure park, everything revolves around the theme of water. Besides exploring the fascinating world of the gorge, you can experience the coolness in the water play park and on the water observation path.
