Together, we shape our life at the Oberschaller farm:
We run an organic mountain farm together with our “ladies,” the dairy cows and heifers. Spending time with our guests at the Oberschaller alpine hut and in the holiday apartments at Giatla Hof is just as important to us. This is an old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored.

About us
Jeannette and Benjamin
A true Tyrolean native and a newcomer
The two of us
Our activities are diverse and often circle back to nature, its unique pace in the rhytm of the seasons and its individual elements. We aim to share the experience of this world with our guests.
For Benjamin, it was clear form an early age that he would take over and continue tu run his family's mountain farm in the beautiful hamlet of Kalkstein in the Villgraten Valley, East Tyrol. Alongside organic farming, the rental of the Oberschaller mountain hut and the holiday apartments at Giatla Hof are integral parts of his daily work. Benjamin has deep roots in his homeland and cannot imagine living elsewhere. Jeannette feels the same way now.
Jeannette grew up in Dresden. During a past Christmas season, she felt a desire to spend an extended period in the Alps, inspired by the movie “Heidi”. This led her to Kalkstein for the first time in the summer of 2016 through a volunteer organization for haymaking. She came to stay. Since then, she was learned many new things and discovered previously unknown interests, such as the world of mountain herbs and mindfulness in everyday life.
Several years have passed since then, we got married and we keep busy with new ideas that come to Benjamin or Jeannette.
