Giatla Hof

After passing the “Kalkstein” village sign, turn right immediately (signpost: Giatla Hof | Address: Kalkstein 154 | for navigation purposes make sure to select house number 154 or Giatla Hof as the destination, not Alfenalm). The second house on the right side of the road is the Giatla Hof, marked with G I A T L A. You can park your car on the left side of the house in the designated parking area. Our residential and agricultural building, H-Nr. 152, is located diagonally across the street.

Arrival Giatla Hof

Alpin Hut Oberschaller

After passing the “Kalkstein” village sign, turn left (signpost: Almhütte Oberschlaller). Continue for 300 meters until you reach the Kalkstein parking area. From there, a drivable alpine path (gravel road) leads directly to our mountain hut on the Alfenalm (approx 500 meters). The cellar wall of the hut is white/gray with the inscription A L F E N, and it is located in the middle of the alpine village. You can park your car on the left side in front of the hut. For the winter months from November to April, winter tires are absolutely necessary for the journey.

From Switzerland
Take the A14 via Feldkirch, Bludenz, Arlberg, then the A12 via Innsbruck to the exit “Wörgl East“. Follow the signs for ”Felbertauernstraße" via Kitzbühel and Mittersill to East Tyrol.

From Vienna or Linz
Take the A1 to Salzburg, then B312/311 via Bad Reichenhall, Lofer, Zell am See, and B168 to Mittersill, then continue via “Felbertauernstraße” to East Tyrol. Watch for the turn-off info into the “Villgratental” on the B100 in Heinfels. Just after the old bridge ("Punbrücke") near Heinfels Castle, the Villgratental state road branches off. From here it's only 15 km to Kalkstein. After passing through the village of Innervillgraten, continue the last few kilometers to Kalkstein.
